August 1st Wednesday
AID Meeting with picnic at Lizzie's tonite. E + I went, was late, was 50 there.
Lots didn't come.
We were busy all day; Went for B berries in the morning and BOY, was it wet!
August 2nd Thursday
G got me a little Bull Dog up at Frye's!!!
Hot as Forty!!!
Bob came to thresh here about 10; had 7 men for dinner. Made 47 bu. Didn't have much out and a little barley. In PM G went up to Edinburg and got the little dog. Everybody is happy over it!
E + I pulled grass in garden and yard. Cecil and G baled up 74 bales of straw and put it in barn. Everything is in now.
Made jelly along with diner. G felt some better today; killed a chicken for dinner.
August 3rd Friday
Not as much sun till later afternoon. Grand day to pull weeds and did me. We washed this AM (pulled grass first then washed). At bite of dinner then at 1"30 Bobby and Sonny came, we pulled weeds till 15 of 5...and I mean WEEDS to!
Got them most all out. Some job!
SD called from Richmond. G helped C bale straw all day; got it all in without a speck of rain on it.
Eggs 6 dozen
Little dog friskey as can be! Asleep now at 8:30pm
*G has a sore eye
