Sunday
SD Old Tinker died, was buried Sat
Weather wonderful fine. No killing frost yet; flowers all blooming nice. Didn’t go to Church just not enough of will power Killed a rooster for dinner. Baked cherry pie but no one has come yet.
Have 150 reds 10 little peeps to date. Doing good. Pigs doing good; Calves fair.
October 22, 1951
Monday
G went up helped F pour cement in reservoir + cellar. Got me sack of feed + corn and a sack of sow + pig meal. I fixed coal bin for coal; gathered tomatoes done 100 odd jobs!
Sewed on E house coat then picked it out. E + I got sack walnuts up along creek.
Jim H had wreck coming in today in Ohio.
October 23, 1951
Tuesday
Earl F died Mon nite at 8 o’clock sitting on porch in chair. Will be buried Thurs PM.
At 5am got a telegram that Earl F had died. We worked all day, done lots of jobs.
In evening; I went with Ruth P to meeting. Jim called, he was getting all set to start again at 10am.

Mom not feeling so hot.
October 24, 1951
Wednesday
Had big wash
About 11, it started to rain. Rained a good shower first we’ve had for a long time. We cleaned and put away and cleaned more. Baked 2 pumpkin pies, cocoanut cake cooked off neck, roast AM. I’m tired! You think it’s almost 10 and I’ll call it a day. Much cooler.
